Senior Software Developer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support a leader in the American tobacco manufacturing industry for a 6‑month contract with potential extension in a hybrid position requiring 2 days onsite per week in Greensboro, NC. The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise‑grade web, API, and mobile applications while providing technical leadership, driving software modernization initiatives, and delivering scalable solutions that support critical business operations.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications, mobile solutions, and backend services using C#, ASP.NET, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Build, support, and enhance RESTful APIs and integrations between business applications, databases, cloud platforms, and third‑party systems.
• Lead software architecture discussions, code reviews, technical design decisions, and application modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high‑quality software solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues, optimize system performance, and support deployments while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET MVC/Core, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and REST API development.
• Experience developing mobile applications using technologies such as .NET MAUI, Xamarin, React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android platforms.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, object‑oriented programming principles, design patterns, Git, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with Azure cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops practices, Angular or React, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile methodologies preferred.

• $65‑$69/hour based on professional experience.
