Truck Driver​/Operator

Position Description

Haul scrap from Port to Scrap Lines for off‑loading to Scrap Piles and Scrap Bays.

• Inspects assigned truck for damage or problems at the beginning of the shift.
• Measures to get a tare weight at beginning of the shift.
• Drives 60‑ton trucks from the Port to Scrap Lines.
• Accurately records weight from payload meter for scrap hauled to lines.
• Drives 60‑ton trucks from Port to Scrap Line.
• Drives trucks over scales and records accurate load weights for scrap hauled to the Scrap Line.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds – (High Physical Demand Level per DOL).
• Must meet and maintain certification for use of respiratory protective equipment as required by OSHA .
• Demonstrated aptitude to execute customer orders and maintain quality.
• Requires work in all types of weather conditions.
• Requires working on and around barges and water.
• Must be available to work all shifts and weekends, including 12‑hour shifts.
