Purpose of Position

The T&L Specialist will collaboratively work with Purchasing, Planning, Operations, and other internal stakeholders as well as carriers, freight forwarders, and other external partners to ensure consistency of supply flow. This role will be part of an innovation‑focused supply chain team that develops and maintains good client relationships, delivering the best in customer service, and builds effective processes to enhance internal business systems.

The Specialist will work across GVR and Invenco businesses and support other OpCos as needed. This position is part of the GVR North America Supply Chain / Purchasing Team. The role is hybrid, requiring 1‑2 days per week on site at the Greensboro, NC facility.

Core Functions
  • Coordinate inbound international and domestic shipments with our carrier and forwarder base for GVR and Invenco across multiple facilities.
  • Manage last‑mile logistics to prevent stock‑outs, including air freight coordination to the destination, container coordination, and expedited documents through U.S. Customs.
  • Review and approve freight invoices based on agreed contracted rates across freight, warehousing, customs and handling charges (Invenco & other VNT OpCos as assigned).
  • Present complete and correct shipping documents to customers and brokers to ensure on‑time processing and clearance of orders.
  • Provide weekly shipping schedules to customers and the business on the status of Invenco open orders.
  • Analyze logistics costs to better utilize resources at various branches and ensure efficient deployment of logistics in the local market.
  • Support duty drawback program.
Key Responsibilities
  • Organize the logistics of all finished goods and accessories in a timely manner and per customer order requirements.
  • Ensure shipping documents issued to freight forwarders are complete and accurate.
  • Work with 3PL and freight providers to assist with import customs clearance, commercial paperwork, and ensure maximum DIFOT achieved.
  • Track all changes to freight rates, policies, and shipping processes (especially exporting to the U.S.) and update internal processes accordingly.
  • Manage last‑mile logistics to prevent stock‑outs, including air freight coordination, container coordination, expedited documents through U.S. Customs, and customs inquiries.
  • Coordinate GVR freight, hot shots, and domestic freight into both Greensboro locations (7300/311).
  • Spot quote domestic and international requests.
  • Coordinate Invenco/3PL/311‑Invenco shipments.
  • Assist freight forwarders with shipment movement, including clearance of inbound ocean and air shipments.
  • Maintain tactical communication with external customers, carriers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Drive to reduce or eliminate freight damage and streamline customer delivery experience.
  • Track savings projects as needed.
  • Demonstrate willingness to continue professional development, specifically with VBS tools.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
Relationships

The position requires the ability to organize and conduct meetings with internal customers, external suppliers, and associates, and publish reports. It involves interaction with other internal groups concerning technical matters, conveying ideas, and recommending solutions to problems. Internal customers include GVR and VR shipping, receiving, customer service, purchasing, finance, VNT Corporate Logistics team, freight carriers, parcel carriers, freight payment services (USB), and freight forwarders.

WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, logistics, supply chain, or industrial engineering; associate degree accepted with experience.
  • 7+ years overall business experience, including at least 5 years in sourcing, logistics, indirect, supply chain, or procurement.
  • Continuous improvement mindset – ability to suggest and streamline processes and improvements.
  • Knowledge of shipping out of Asia into the U.S. is a bonus.
