The primary purpose of the Warehouse Manager is to organize, plan, and direct warehouse operation to ensure timely and accurate checkout of trucks, proper receiving, rotation and inventory of products, efficient and accurate order selection, and routine maintenance and cleaning of warehouse facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage staffing and expenses within approved budget.
- Ensure accuracy of warehouse management systems.
- Knowledgeable of all warehouse operations and able to supervise, train and direct warehouse personnel.
- Develop and maintain a warehouse staff capable of executing plans and strategies.
- Direct and supervise warehouse staff, including; cross-training employees and developing a back-up plan for coverage during warehouse manager absence.
- Manage the selection, development and evaluation of subordinate personnel.
- Ensure that product movement into and out of the facility is controlled and appropriately documented, i.e. breakage , retail breakage, loading rekeys.
- Maintain accuracy of WMS systems including slotting of new products and relocation of products based on velocity.
- Work with Inventory Specialist on daily cycle counts, and yearly inventory counts to ensure all products are accounted for and all variances are resolved.
- Follow product rotation guidelines associated with warehouse inventory.
- Direct subordinate personnel in minimizing inventory losses associated with warehouse breakage and poor rotation.
- Act as a resource related to computer systems associated with researching inventory variances. This includes specialized knowledge in areas such as PO Receipts, Transfers, Returns to Suppliers, etc.
- Manage dunnage and product returns with suppliers.
- Ensure prompt and accurate checkout of trucks in the morning in accordance with standards established by Operations Manager.
- Maintain records of inventory adjustment as required by company policy.
- Meet or exceed daily company standards for warehouse cleanliness and organization.
- Responsible for follow-through, enforcing warehouse safety programs, and conducting monthly safety meetings in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
- Sign off on all training and certification of all material handling equipment operators and reinforce proper use of all equipment.
- Be a subject matter expert on any warehouse automation, picking systems, etc.
- Always adhere to dress code and be properly attired and groomed.
- Obey all federal, state and local Laws.
