Amount of Travel RequiredLocal travel between the hospital and other DCMH facilities, clinics, and off‑site locations as needed to provide technical support and services.

Work ScheduleFull‑time days, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Participates in the IT department on‑call rotation to provide support during evenings, weekends, holidays, or other off‑hours as assigned.
Must be available to respond to urgent technology‑related issues when scheduled for on‑call coverage.
Work schedule may be adjusted as needed to meet operational and business requirements.
FLSA StatusNon‑Exempt (Hourly); eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable law
Position SummaryThe IT Support Technician provides front‑line technical support and assistance to end users throughout Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH). This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and user access requests and setup. The IT Support Technician serves as a key resource for resolving technology issues, supporting system users, and ensuring the reliable operation of technology solutions that support patient care and business operations.
Under general supervision, the IT Support Technician performs assigned duties with a high degree of independence while adhering to established policies, procedures, and security standards. Work is reviewed through results achieved, quality of service provided, and user satisfaction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES/POSITION QUALIFICATIONS EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
ExperienceOne (1) to two (2) years of information technology support experience preferred
Healthcare IT experience preferred
Experience supporting Windows‑based environments preferred
Computer SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office, email, and other standard computer applications, with the ability to learn and effectively use software systems required for assigned responsibilities.
Certificates & LicensesValid driver’s license required
CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Microsoft 365, or related technical certifications preferred
Additional technology certifications are advantageous.
