Position: Manufacturing Frontline Supervisor — Sintering & 6S Operations
Lead the Line. Elevate the Standard.

As the Manufacturing Frontline Supervisor for our second shift, you’ll orchestrate people, processes, and performance on the production floor. Your purpose: safeguard safety, deliver quality, hit production goals, and embed 6S discipline while guiding a high-performing team.

A day in the life

When you arrive for the 2:30pm start, you review the plan, staffing, and equipment status. You confirm preventive maintenance (PMs) are completed properly, then sign off where leadership approval is required—PMs, First Piece tags, PDS, and Sintering Conditions sheets. You walk the floor to observe processes, verify daily quality checks, and coach associates to standard. Throughout the shift, you remove roadblocks, address safety items, and jump in on quality, setup, or automation issues.

You partner on root-cause analysis and countermeasures for internal and external rejections, ensure policies and procedures are followed, and prepare the area for customer visits and 6S, safety, quality, or environmental audits. Before handoff, you finalize reports and approvals needed by other departments.

What you’ll own Meeting daily production requirements and tracking performance.

Training, developing, and coaching departmental associates.

Monitoring department processes and enforcing standards.

Ensuring PMs are completed correctly; providing required leadership sign-offs (PMs, First Piece tags, PDS, Sintering Conditions sheets).Conducting and validating daily quality checks.

Driving safety actions and supporting setup, quality, safety, and automation concerns.

Hosting customer visits and supporting 6S audits.

Investigating internal/external rejections; leading root cause and countermeasure activities.

Ensuring adherence to rules, processes, and policies.

Preparing the department for quality, safety, and environmental audits.

Completing interdepartmental reports and approvals.

Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years of manufacturing experience.

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, or a related field.

Skills & competencies

Project management and strong organization.

Clear written, verbal, and presentation communication.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Leadership: prioritization, coaching, mentoring, motivating.

Analytical thinking and problem solving.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Proficiency in people leadership and workforce scheduling.

Work environment

Primarily on the manufacturing floor.

Exposure to high temperatures (up to 115°), loud noise, and dirty conditions for extended periods.

Physical demands

Standing and walking for long durations.

Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.

Team leadership

Supervise all full-time and temporary associates on the shift.

Execute supervisory duties consistent with company policy and applicable federal and state laws.

Schedule Second shift: 2:30pm–11:00pm.
