We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join our growing Environment & Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically strong professional to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects while mentoring junior staff and supporting the continued growth of our environmental services.

  • Lead and deliver hydrogeological and environmental assessments across a range of sectors.
  • Liaise directly with clients, regulators, landowners, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, environmental assessments, groundwater risk assessments, and supporting documentation.
  • Organise, oversee, and undertake field investigations, monitoring programmes, and hydrogeological surveys.
  • Procure and manage site investigations and specialist surveys.
  • Support the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), Planning & Environmental Consideration Reports (PECRs), Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screenings, and Natura Impact Statements (NISs).
  • Provide expert technical advice and contribute to planning and consenting processes.
  • Represent projects at public consultation events, stakeholder meetings, and oral hearings where required.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Review and quality-check technical work completed by junior and intermediate team members.
  • Mentor and develop graduate and junior staff through coaching, training, and technical guidance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for business development.
  • Stay current with industry developments, legislation, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to tender submissions and proposals for new work opportunities.
  • Support and promote quality, health and safety, environmental management, and sustainability objectives across all projects.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • A Level 8 Honours Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation as a Professional Geologist (PGeo) or equivalent recognised professional membership.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in hydrogeology, environmental consultancy, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of Irish environmental legislation, planning processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to undertake fieldwork where required.
Technical Skills
  • Strong hydrogeological investigation, monitoring, and assessment experience.
  • Experience specifying and interpreting site investigations, boreholes, and groundwater monitoring programmes.
  • Strong report writing, technical review, and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, Arc Collector, Map Info, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Teams, and project management software.
  • Working knowledge of hydrogeological and environmental modelling software such as Aquifer Test, MODFLOW, Land Sim, P20, or similar.
  • Excellent fieldwork, surveying, and site management skills.
