Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This hybrid role requires three days in the office (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in corporate or public accounting, strong analytical skills, and a dedication to maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting, including adjustments during month-end and quarterly closings.

- Reconcile balance sheets and maintain schedules to support account accuracy and compliance.

- Manage and update the general ledger, ensuring timely and precise entries.

- Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

- Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial packages for submission to external stakeholders.

- Oversee assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and organizational policies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and reporting.

- Participate in occasional weekend work during quarter-end closings, with a focus on delivering thorough results.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

- Minimum of five years' experience in corporate financial accounting or three years in public accounting.

- Proficiency in managing general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

- Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards.

- Experience in manufacturing or other industries preferred but not required.

- Ability to work extended hours during quarter-end closings, including occasional weekends.

- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with international accounting practices is a plus.
