PAYROLL COORDINATOR
Greensburg, PA
$55,000- $65,000
OVERVIEW OF THE PAYROLL COORDINATOR ROLE:
- Process biweekly payroll for approximately 1,200 active employees and 400 retirees, including monthly payroll for clergy.
- Reconcile payroll data, verify balances, and maintain accurate payroll records using payroll software and Excel.
- Maintain and update confidential personnel records and track PTO/vacation balances in Excel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and assist with payroll tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting (fiscal year ends June 30).
- Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, providing clear and helpful guidance to employees and clergy.
- Support general ledger activities related to payroll and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PAYROLL COORDINATOR ROLE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent payroll experience.
- Previous payroll experience, preferably handling full-cycle payroll.
- Experience working in a smaller organization or collaborative team environment is a plus.
- Basic Excel proficiency (data entry, formulas, and tables).
