American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2 years of L&D experience and an active PA or compact RN license.
Details- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:00) and Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:00) schedules available
- Patient ratio of 1:1-2
- Cerner charting system used, experience preferred
- Floating required within the hospital based on unit needs
- Floating to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required
- Coverage required for every other holiday
- Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Experience with EFM, IUPC placement, and fetal heart rate monitoring
- Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
- Experience managing antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care
- Experience with obstetric medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Experience caring for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and preterm labor
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care areas
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and complex obstetric cases
- Support breastfeeding and lactation education for postpartum patients
- Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation as needed
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
- Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
