Hospice Registered Nurse; Part Time

Role Overview

The Hospice Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive pain management and symptom control to hospice patients, ensuring quality care aligned with the plan of care and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, physicians, and caregivers.

• Assessing patient and family needs during home visits and documenting findings.
• Coordinating hospice care and communicating effectively with team members and providers.
• Developing, reviewing, and revising patient care plans based on assessment and outcomes.
• Supervising care delivery by aides and practical nurses, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Participating in on-call rotations, documentation, and quality improvement activities.
• Providing education to patients and families about hospice care concepts.
• Maintaining regulatory compliance and safeguarding patient privacy and security.
• Supporting community education and resource management.

• Current RN license in Alabama.
• At least one year of medical/surgical experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of Medicare and Joint Commission standards.
• Valid Alabama driver's license and proof of insurance.
