POSITION SUMMARY: Greenville Public Schools is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Level 1 Technology Technician to support the district's technology department. The primary responsibility of this position is the repair and maintenance of student Chromebooks and other district technology equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in technology, troubleshooting, and customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair student Chromebooks
  • Process and track Chromebook repairs
  • Prepare and send invoices for damaged Chromebooks and other technology equipment
  • Assist with technology inventory management
  • Support the technology team with special projects as assigned
  • Unpack, prepare, and deploy new Chromebooks and technology equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and billing
  • Provide basic technical support under the direction of the technology department
  • Commitment to regular and predictable attendance

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Basic knowledge of Chromebook operation and troubleshooting preferred
  • Ability to learn technology repair procedures
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Satisfactory background check
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must have the ability to lift and move boxes of Chromebooks and technology equipment. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, move, and manipulate small parts, tools and components. The employee is constantly required to talk and hear. The employee must have the ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the workday as needed.

  • Communication: Ability to write routine business correspondence. Ability to express oneself clearly, both orally and in writing. Ability to present recommendations, updates, and overviews to large groups of people.

  • Environmental: The noise level in the work environment is quiet. The employee is occasionally exposed to dust and electrical hazards when handling older or malfunctioning equipment.
