Weekend Only Program for RNs
Eligibility:
Registered Nurses (RN) in inpatient settings with 24/7 scheduling. 0.9 FTE will work two 12-hour shifts on the weekend and one additional shift during the week.
Compensation
: $10 per hour above base pay, combined with shift differentials and special codes. If the RN works a full-time (3) 12-hour shift per week, the stipend applies to the two weekend shifts only.
Scheduling
: RNs must work 48 of 52 weekends per calendar year (Friday‑Saturday nights for night shift). They may request up to 48 hours PTO on weekend shifts plus 48 hours exchanging a weekend shift for a weekday shift, totaling 96 hours off the weekend requirement. One holiday per year that falls on a weekend can be requested off; the RN will not be moved off the weekend to work on a holiday.

Greenville Emergency Department is a community-based hospital part of the Corewell Healthcare System. The ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level III Trauma Center with over 25 care spaces and 29,000 visits per year.
Scope of Work (RN)Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably following the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards and Michigan state law. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation). Upholds professional standards including ethical practice, culturally congruent care, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and resource utilization.
Employment DetailsFull-time, shift variable, 36 hours weekly, weekends only. Requires 48 weekends per year.
Qualifications- Associates in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor's in Nursing (required within 5 years)
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or ARC (required within 90 days)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA (required within 6 months)
- Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA (required within 180 days)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (ENPC) – ENA (required within 1 year)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – ENA (required)
