Job Description
Electrician
Qualifications: A high school diploma. A minimum of three years of experience in electrical maintenance with vocational training preferred. A working knowledge of motor control repair. Knowledge of heating and air‑conditioning systems. Ability to read blueprints and instructions. Capability of climbing and working at heights.
Reports To: Superintendent of Education, Deputy Superintendent, Director of Maintenance, and/or the Superintendent’s designee.
Job Goal: To work with fellow employees in performing all job assignments in an economical and timely fashion.
Mission and Goals- Works with the Superintendent and those who he/she supervises to articulate and promote the school system's vision of learning and teaching.
- Monitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of the system’s goals and objectives.
- Ensures that unit and program plans are consistent with the system's strategic plan.
- Organizes daily, monthly, and yearly schedules to facilitate learning and teaching in the schools.
- Conducts electrical repairs on all types of electrical devices.
- Implements work orders assigned to him/her by supervisor.
- Assists supervisor in monitoring the district's energy management and conservation program.
- Reports to maintenance office the amount of time and list of parts used on each job assignment.
- Inspects mechanical equipment on a regular schedule or as assigned by the supervisor.
- Makes recommendations to the supervisor on equipment repair needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent, the Director of Maintenance, and/or the Superintendent's designee.
Terms of Employment: Twelve months per year; salary and work year will be established by the Board of Trustees.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
