Qualifications:
- Master's degree or above in Psychology
- Mississippi teacher's certificate in Psychology or Psychometry
Reports To:
Superintendent of Education, the Deputy Superintendent and the Superintendent's designee
Job Goal:
To provide timely psychometric data on students assigned for psychological screening and to provide accurate information on said evaluations to Director of Special Services and/or Principals.
Mission and Goals
- Works with the Superintendent and those whom he/she supervises to articulate and promote the school system's vision of learning and teaching
- Monitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of system goals and objectives
- Uses student data to identify program needs
- Develops goals, objectives, programs, and operations that are consistent with school system vision, mission, and goals
- Ensures that unit and program plans are consistent with the system's strategic plan
- Organizes daily, monthly, and yearly schedules to facilitate learning and teaching in the schools
- Communicates high expectations of students, staff, and parents/guardians
- Creates, identifies, encourages, and supports innovative ideas that in turn support learning and teaching in the schools
Performance Responsibilities
- Provides psychometrically sound educational assessments for students referred for special education.
- Compiles assessment team data and writes Assessment Team Reports in conjunction with at least one other assessment team member.
- Communicates with the Special Education Program Developer relative to the status of students in the assessment process.
- Works closely with the nurses and Director of Special Services and/or Principals relative to the number of students awaiting assessment and/or numbers of Assessment Team Reports in process.
- Consults with regular and special educators regarding assessment and status of students referred.
- Consults with parents of students either being assessed or placed in special education programs.
- Reports testing supply needs to the Director of Special Services and/or Principals.
- Protects the confidentiality of special education data stored in the Central Office.
- Attends specified in-service meetings sponsored by the State Department of Education.
Terms of Employment:
Ten, eleven, or twelve month year. Salary and work year will be established by the Board
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
