School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing. It is a multi‑faceted role that requires the combination of professional clinical nursing practice with a specialized component that promotes the health, well‑being, academic achievement, and success of the school‑aged student.
Minimum Requirements- Possess a valid Mississippi Nursing License with no restrictions
- Certification in CPR and maintain requirements of certification
- Possess a minimum of one year of work experience preferably in the hospital setting or home health
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Possess organizational and time management skills and the ability to communicate well with students, staff, and parents
- Possess the ability to work independently according to all nursing practice standards
