Job Overview
This role provides direct care, including IV therapy, for assigned patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities- Directly care patients using the nursing process, including data gathering, planning, and evaluation.
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to patients' ages.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure a quality patient experience.
- Adapt to rapid changes positively throughout the day as unit needs evolve.
- Manage personal professional development and maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Excellent organizational, time‑management, self‑directed, and judgment skills.
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work ExperienceNone.
Certifications- Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- IV therapy credentials (preferred).
Heavy work:
Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Light work: requires walking or standing for much of the time or mostly sitting with occasional pushing or pulling of arm or leg. Clinical duties may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and waste.
Environmental exposure may include receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, or disposal of contaminated waste.
