The endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism section offers numerous opportunities in clinical and translational research, particularly through the ECU Metabolic Institute, which was established in 2004 to research the potential causes and cures for diabetes, and includes numerous NIH‑funded investigators.

Essential to the success of this position is a general working knowledge of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Fellowship programs, services and resources within the medical community, the school, the hospital, the department and the division. The division operations include medical school and residency teaching; support for research development; coordination and implementation of faculty scheduling templates; ancillary service scheduling templates; document preparation, filing and record keeping;
authorizing correspondence; communication, internal policies and procedures; facilities/space management within the administrative office; and other organizational and administrative responsibilities. This position exists to:
1) serve as the personal assistant to the Division Chief for Endocrinology;
2) coordinate Endocrinology educational conferences;
3) prepare and distribute attending round monthly schedules;
4) provide dedicated secretarial support to additional division faculty as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
