- Lead all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities associated with major CAPEX projects, ensuring safe execution throughout design, construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Provide visible, hands-on field safety leadership across project sites, conducting regular site inspections, safety observations, and audits to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, company standards, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements, acting as the subject matter expert for construction and industrial safety matters.
- Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Contractor teams to embed safety-by-design principles into project planning, risk assessments, and execution strategies.
- Develop, review, and approve critical safety documentation, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Permits, Method Statements, Lift Plans, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and Contractor Safety Plans.
- Lead contractor safety management programs, including pre-qualification, onboarding, performance monitoring, compliance audits, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure best-in-class safety performance.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action reviews, ensuring lessons learned are effectively communicated and embedded across ongoing and future projects.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, safety training, toolbox talks, and engagement with project teams and contractors, promoting accountability and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Minimum 8-12 years of progressive EHS experience within industrial manufacturing, construction, engineering projects, or major CAPEX programs.
- Significant hands-on field safety experience supporting large-scale construction or industrial projects.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements.
- Experience managing safety performance of multiple contractors and subcontractors.
- Proven experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence and challenge at all organizational levels.
