A growing specialized commercial construction organization is seeking an experienced Estimator to support business growth through strategic project analysis, estimating, and competitive bidding.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage the full pre-construction process, from identifying new project opportunities and assessing risk through to preparing detailed estimates and final bid submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate commercial and private-sector project opportunities.
  • Assess projects for potential risks, exposures, and operational challenges before bidding.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs covering materials, labor, and project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and comprehensive bid packages for review and submission.
  • Analyze historical project data and current market conditions to develop competitive pricing.
  • Balance competitive bidding strategies with project profitability.
  • Work closely with field operations to ensure estimated costs align with actual construction capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors and developers.
  • Support repeat business opportunities through professional client and industry relationships.
  • Contribute to the continued development of estimating processes and project pipeline strategies.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of professional estimating experience within specialized trades or heavy commercial construction.
  • Proven experience assessing project risk and exposure for complex commercial projects.
  • Advanced ability to perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop technical bid packages.
  • Strong financial and commercial understanding, with the ability to evaluate profitability and pricing.
  • Demonstrated success securing commercial or private-sector projects through effective estimating and bidding.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced experience with estimating software and digital take-off tools.
  • Established network within the regional commercial construction market.
  • Salary: $75,000–$125,000 annually
