Overview
We have immediate needs for Utility Inspectors in the Greenville, NC area for our Transportation division. The successful candidates will support our current staff while assisting in growing the Construction Management and CEI practice to better service our clients statewide. This role offers opportunities to maintain existing client relationships, broaden STV's service offerings geographically, be involved in major transportation projects, mentor junior staff, and promote a healthy work-life balance.
The position offers a challenging role at an ENR Top 50 rated firm, and the ideal candidate desires to lead through example, is professionally respected, an excellent communicator, and has a strong understanding of construction safety principles.
- Perform utility relocation verification activities in support of highway and bridge construction projects.
- Apply safety philosophy to all job responsibilities and work safely in an outdoor environment.
- Monitor contractor compliance with relocation plans.
- Prepare daily inspection reports.
- Measure and document completed work.
- Read and interpret utility relocation plans.
- Effectively communicate with project staff and clients, verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of computer and tablet (iPad) operation.
The employee will typically be assigned to NCDOT or other roadway and bridge construction projects. Daily travel to project sites will be required. Candidates must be able to work nights and weekends when required. Overnight travel is not expected but may be necessary on a limited basis.
Candidates must hold a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record and have the ability to lift 50 pounds, traverse rough terrain, walk or stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Specific Requirements- Minimum of 2 years of experience with utility installation/inspection or construction inspection.
- Ability to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Compensation
Compensation Range: $61,899.00 - $70,339.00
