The position offers a fixed‑term or tenure‑track faculty role for a General Surgeon with advanced training in Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing patient care as a surgical physician with emphasis on hernia and complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
- Participating in a comprehensive Hernia Center of Excellence program to serve regional referral needs.
- Mentoring and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and procedural skills.
- Engaging in a collaborative clinical, teaching and research program.
- Maintaining hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center, a 974‑bed academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
- Advanced training in Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.
- MD or DO from an accredited institution or foreign medical education accepted for ECFMG Certification.
- North Carolina Medical License.
- Board certified or Board eligible with the American Board of Surgery.
- Special interest in teaching and research.
