The position offers a fixed‑term or tenure‑track faculty role for a General Surgeon with advanced training in Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing patient care as a surgical physician with emphasis on hernia and complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
• Participating in a comprehensive Hernia Center of Excellence program to serve regional referral needs.
• Mentoring and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and procedural skills.
• Engaging in a collaborative clinical, teaching and research program.
• Maintaining hospital privileges at ECU Health Medical Center, a 974‑bed academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
• Advanced training in Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.
• MD or DO from an accredited institution or foreign medical education accepted for ECFMG Certification.

• North Carolina Medical License.
• Board certified or Board eligible with the American Board of Surgery.

• Special interest in teaching and research.
