Applicants must be board certified by the American Board of Pathology in AP or AP/CP, and certified in Forensic Pathology (FP).Candidates must have strong knowledge of forensic pathology principles, medicolegal death investigation, and current practices.

A new $35M, 25,000 sq ft Forensic Pathology Center is planned, with groundbreaking in 2026 and opening in 2027, expanding services across a 32-county region.

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine supports AP/CP residency and forensic pathology fellowship programs and provides extensive clinical pathology services to hospital and clinic patients.Highlights

• Review investigative reports and determine jurisdiction
• Determine need for postmortem exam
• Direct assistants in body preparation and scene documentation
• Perform autopsies and collect specimens
• Conduct microscopic exams as needed
• Determine cause and manner of death
• Complete reports in a timely manner
• Review literature for case-related decision-making
• Provide expert witness testimony
• Teach medical students, residents, fellows, and law enforcement
