Primary Function of DepartmentIt is the mission of the Department of Internal Medicine, East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in internal medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it advances scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and provides continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region.
Job DutiesThe Department of Internal Medicine at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine has temporary faculty positions for various sub-specialties of Internal Medicine including Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonary, and Rheumatology. Faculty positions are available at the titles of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor and Research Professor.
These part‑time, temporary faculty positions may have teaching, clinical, research, and administrative duties. Positions are 12‑month fixed‑term appointments. Position will remain open and applications remain active until 12/31/2026.
MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification. Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina. Board Certified or eligible for board certification. Research faculty must have a minimum of a master’s degree for the internal medicine sub‑specialty they are considered for.
License or Certification RequiredMust have the appropriate respective license to work in North Carolina.
Preferred Experience , Skills, Training/EducationPhD is preferred for Research Faculty.
