Seeking a Plant Controller to lead daily financial operations for the plant while serving as the site’s de facto CFO and strategic partner to plant leadership. This role oversees accounting activities, mentors junior staff, provides financial and operational analysis, and collaborates cross-functionally to drive profitability, cash flow, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic financial leadership and decision support to plant management to drive operational performance and sound business decisions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and AOP processes, including weekly projections and quarterly updates.
- Oversee monthly financial close, including full responsibility for P&L and balance sheet accuracy and reporting.
- Drive cost control and continuous improvement initiatives across labor, materials, overhead, and manufacturing processes.
- Analyze financial and operational performance (e.g., variances, KPIs, inventory, product costing) to identify efficiencies and support corrective actions.
- Manage capital planning and expenditures, including evaluating investment proposals, tracking project performance, and ensuring alignment with financial targets and controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7-12 years of experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or plant finance roles.
- Experience in middle-market or private equity-backed manufacturing/industrial environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting, with plant controller or batch manufacturing experience a plus.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights and drive process improvement.
