Overview
Position Summary
The Physical Environment (PE) Specialist supports a safe, compliant, and high performing environment across an entire health system, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, ambulatory centers, and administrative sites. This role ensures consistent implementation of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices across all facilities. The specialist collaborates with system leadership, local site teams, and cross-functional departments to maintain continuous readiness and promote a unified culture of safety.

- Interpret and apply NFPA, OSHA, Joint Commission, CMS requirements across multiple care settings.
- Support facilities operations, safety initiatives, and accreditation activities as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations or emergency response activities.
- Bachelor s degree in healthcare administration, safety management, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in a health system, hospital network, or multi-site healthcare environment strongly preferred.
- Background in safety, accreditation, or facilities operations.
- Strong understanding of Joint Commission and CMS requirements across multiple care settings.
- Ability to interpret and apply NFPA, OSHA, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship building skills.
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple sites and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational abilities.
Working Conditions: Frequent travel between hospitals, clinics, and administrative sites within the health system. Regular presence in clinical areas, mechanical spaces, and construction zones. Participate in on-call rotations or emergency response activities.
Pay Range$59,446.40 - $86,646.56
