Field Tech II

Compucom Systems, Inc. provides end-to-end IT managed services to enable the digital workplace for enterprise, midsize, and small businesses. We are looking for a Field Tech II to join our team.

The IT Field Technician will provide onsite technical support for a national home improvement retail client. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on IT work, troubleshooting, and working in a fast‑paced field environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite support for IT equipment including POS systems, desktops, printers, thin clients, access points, and network devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Perform installations, upgrades, and break/fix support.
  • Support copper and fiber cabling, including basic terminations.
  • Document all work, updates, and resolutions in ticketing systems.
  • Travel daily within a 125+ mile radius (route‑based travel).
  • Work with remote teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Occasionally work at heights (20–25 feet) and lift up to 25 lbs.
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of IT technical support or field technician experience.
  • CompTIA A+ (required), Network+ preferred.
  • Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals and IT hardware.
  • Experience with cabling (copper/fiber) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Wage Range

Hourly rate: $22 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
