Required Skills- Deep understanding of Oracle Exadata architecture, including storage cells, Infini Band networking, Smart Scan and Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC)
- 5 Years of experience managing storage using Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and monitoring ASM disk groups
- 3 Years of hands‑on experience installing, patching, and upgrading Oracle Database software and related components (Exadata patches, PSU/DBRU/Release Updates)
- 2 Years of experience with performance tuning at both database and Exadata storage layer
- 7 Years of demonstrable expertise in designing database schemas, access patterns, indexing, locking strategies, and tuning Oracle databases
- 7 Years of ability to troubleshoot complex issues across database, OS, and Exadata storage components
- 2 Years of experience with OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) or Cloud Control for monitoring and diagnostics
- 7 Years of strong experience in SQL writing skills
- Participation in on‑call rotation and weekend work
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires a Senior Oracle DBA to provide development and optimization support to various applications using Oracle database on AWS.
Primary responsibilities include managing the application schema, design, and extensions within the database for development, test, and production environments for Oracle database on Linux platform. Responsibilities also include database technical support, performance tuning, application administration and consulting, and providing support for Oracle, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Exadata.
This resource will serve in a key role in managing Oracle database on AWS cloud platform, lead the development of procedures and best practices for effective database for high volume application system and providing database solution for application modernization.
This position is responsible for performing tasks associated with the leading the management of the application schema, design, and extensions within the database, in development, test and production environments.
Responsibilities- Provision and manage Oracle database instances on AWS/Linux
- Set up replication and high availability for Oracle databases using tools like Golden Gate
- Monitor Oracle database performance and troubleshoot Oracle database problems
- Perform backups and restores of Oracle databases
- Work with application developers to identify and refine data requirements, table/database design, assist in SQL writing
