Requirements
Must have:- We require a bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, healthcare administration, or a related discipline, or 10+ years of equivalent healthcare system analysis and support experience in place of a degree.
- We need 5–7 years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare setting.
- We require hands‑on experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows, including clinical, revenue cycle, or IT functions.
- We need strong skills in requirements elicitation, workflow design, and testing.
- We expect familiarity with ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and waterfall/agile delivery methods.
- We require the ability to communicate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders, managed service providers, and to produce clear documentation.
- We look for a proven history of managing complex initiatives and leading cross‑functional teams.
- For the Application Training path, we require Epic Training Environment Build certification and 3+ years of experience, plus two Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications.
- For the Application Build path, we prefer current Epic certification or proficiency in relevant modules such as HB, PB, Cadence, Referrals, Orders, Clin Doc, or Clarity.
- For the Application Build path, we are especially seeking professionals with Beacon and Research experience and certifications.
- For the Application Build path, we prefer 3+ years of Epic build and configuration experience.
- For the Application Build path, we prefer prior leadership or supervisory experience.
- For the Application Build path, we prefer experience with system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing.
- For the Application Build path, we value exposure to SQL, Clarity, Caboodle, Slicer Dicer, or reporting tools such as Radar and Reporting Workbench.
- For the Application Build path, we prefer prior experience in patient access, billing, coding, finance, or clinical operations, depending on the module.
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
- Additional Epic application certifications are desired.
- Experience in a large healthcare system or hospital environment is preferred.
- Experience with other healthcare applications and platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards is preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
- Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools is preferred.
- A masters degree or higher in a related field is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- We gather and refine stakeholder requirements, map current-state workflows, and design Epic solutions aligned with operational objectives and policy.
- We create and maintain specifications, decision logs, and design documentation to support traceability and change control.
- We perform gap analyses to identify configuration or workflow changes needed for upgrades, regulatory updates, or new initiatives.
- We manage smaller implementation and upgrade projects.
- We apply both waterfall and agile project management approaches and help guide project teams through the delivery methodology.
- We develop and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations and processes.
- We mentor junior analysts and share best practices.
- We configure records, master files, and tools such as profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows according to approved designs.
- We maintain environment consistency and follow change management and build naming standards.
- We design and execute unit, integration, and UAT test plans, track defects, and document test evidence.
- We validate interfaces, printing, reporting, and downstream workflows, including regression coverage during upgrades.
- We coordinate release activities, environment moves, and downtime procedures for patches and upgrades.
- We provide go‑live and post‑go‑live hypercare support, including rounding, office hours, tip sheets, and at‑the‑elbow assistance.
- We manage service requests and incidents promptly, using strong triage and root‑cause analysis to meet SLAs.
