Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS) is the central agency that supports enterprise-wide computing at East Carolina University. ITCS, through innovative information technology initiatives and service, provides opportunities for the ECU community to excel in teaching, research, and service using state-of-the-market technology and collaborative environments. ITCS is first and foremost committed to providing excellent information technology support for faculty, staff, and students.
ITCS partners with campus departments, other universities, and industry to make strategic investments in information technology infrastructure that will help maintain a competitive advantage in administrative applications, faculty research, and outreach to the state and nation. Enterprise Data Services provides enterprise data management, governance, analytics, reporting, and database administration services for ECU. The team develops and supports data platforms and business intelligence solutions that enable data-informed decision-making, improve operational effectiveness, and ensure the university's data assets are secure, trusted, and strategically managed.
Primary Purpose of PositionThe Director of Enterprise Data Services provides strategic leadership and oversight for the university's enterprise data, reporting, analytics, and database environments. This position is responsible for establishing the vision, policies, standards, and long-term operational strategies that guide the management and use of institutional data as a strategic asset. The Director leads the ITCS Enterprise Data Services team and is accountable for the planning, delivery, security, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms, including data warehousing, operational data stores, database systems, business intelligence and reporting environments, analytics platforms, and emerging data technologies.
