Hourly Student Employment - Y.H. Kim Computer Lab Assistants
ECU Department of Earth, Environment and Planning is currently seeking Computer Lab Assistants to work in the Y.H. Kim Computing Lab. The Kim Computing lab is the primary drop-in computing facility in the Brewster Building with a total of 60 PCs and Macs. The purpose of this position is to provide supervision of the Kim Computing Lab facilities during drop-in hours.
The individual in this position will also assist the Kim Lab director in lab maintenance and in the provision of lab-related computing needs of faculty and students. This position requires the individual to work 10-25 hours per week during the academic year and may require occasional evening hours.
Minimum of 2.0 GPA required. A major in Community & Regional Planning, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, Environmental Studies, and Geography & Geospatial Data Science is preferred. The department also prefers an applicant who is enrolled in an Arts & Sciences undergraduate or graduate program. The applicant must remain in good standing in their program of study. The applicant must have some experience with microcomputer based word processors, spreadsheets, database managers, web browsers.
Knowledge of either GIS software, economics software (e.g., EViews), or statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Stata) is desirable. Microcomputer hardware maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
