Position: Manufacturing Engineer (Process/QA Engineer)

Tooling Shop Supervisor (Engineering)

Oversee daily operations of the tooling and welding shops, managing plug and mold construction, task assignments, scheduling, and equipment upkeep. Requires leadership experience, fiberglass knowledge, tool proficiency, and strong communication and PC skills.

Responsibilities
  • Construct plugs and molds for fiberglass parts using hand tools, power tools, and materials like wood, resin, and fiberglass.
  • Read design drawings, shape materials, and operate forklifts and trucks.
  • Provide hands‑on manufacturing support: troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
  • Support engineers in building, testing, and improving new models, troubleshoot existing systems, partner with vendors on new parts, and provide training and technical support to production teams.
  • Research and implement industry best practices, new technologies, and materials to drive continuous improvement.
  • Use lean manufacturing tools, documented procedures, visual references, error‑proofing methods, and process audits to ensure products meet specifications and cosmetic standards.
Qualifications
  • Leadership experience with managerial responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of fiberglass and related technologies.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in a tooling shop.
  • Excellent communication and PC skills.
  • Attention to detail, craftsmanship, and technical skills.
  • Experience operating forklifts and trucks.
  • Marine or fiberglass experience preferred.
