Descriptionof Work
Central Regional Hospital is recruiting for several Nurse Consultant I positions. The primary purpose of this role is to provide orientation training, annual required training, and ongoing education to all levels of nursing staff at the unit level. Partner with the nursing assistants assigned to other areas in the hospital as needed to complete training objectives for the hospital as a whole.
Assist in the Quality and Performance Improvement process by conducting audits, performing data analysis and completing unit projects. Work collaboratively with the Nurse Supervisor II and III assigned to work area to complete all training needs and meet assigned objectives. The Nurse Consultant spends majority of their work time performing independent function assigned by and under the general supervision of the Nurse Supervisor III.

Salary Range: $62,044.00 - $
Recruitment Range: $80,000.00 - $95,224.00
- A Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the Budget Approval.
- Considerable knowledge of professional nursing skills, practices and procedures.
- Theory and practice of psychiatric nursing including medications, group dynamics, growth/development, and adult learning theory. Provide direct patient care (including those listed for the Professional Nurse).
- Ability to assess employee learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning activities.
- Ability to apply critical thinking to create and implement improvement plans.
- Must be able to audit and aggregate data and develop unit in-service training in collaboration with Nurse Supervisor II and III.
Conditional Requirements:
Valid Driver's License
Ability to maintain current certification on NCI & APS (annually)
Ability to maintain current certification on CPR (biennially)
This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
Working Hours & LocationThe normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m.; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.

Eligibility for Sign-on BonusTo qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
- The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
- The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
