Role Description
The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Greenville, NC. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental, health, and safety programs aligned with regulatory requirements and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations, as well as maintaining EHS documentation and reporting. The Coordinator will deliver safety training, support emergency preparedness plans, and collaborate with operations, warehouse, and field teams to promote a strong safety culture.
The role also involves working with leadership to identify risk reduction opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental compliance and occupational health.
- Candidates should possess strong Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety knowledge, including understanding of relevant regulations and best practices.
- Candidates should possess Workplace Safety and Occupational Health skills, with experience identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing corrective actions.
- Candidates should possess Safety Training skills, including developing training materials and delivering effective safety and compliance training sessions.
- Candidates should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and influence safe behaviors.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and documentation abilities, with attention to detail in recordkeeping and incident reporting.
- Relevant experience in agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, or a similar industrial environment is beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as OSHA-related training, CHST, or similar credentials are an advantage.
