ECU Department of Anthropology is currently seeking a Federal Work Study student to serve as a lab assistant for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.

This student will provide support to faculty and staff by assisting with laboratory activities, collections management, and general office operations as assigned.

• Assisting faculty with laboratory projects and research activities
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining laboratory materials, equipment, and collections
• Assisting with artifact processing, inventory, and data entry
• Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
• Assisting students, faculty, and staff in person and over the phone.
• Performing general office duties, including filing, copying, scanning, and other administrative tasks
• Completing additional departmental projects

Minimum of 3.0

A major in Anthropology, excellent customer service skills, being detailed oriented, and having the willingness to work with various groups of people is preferred. A graduate student is preferred; however, all students will be considered.
