Job Duties

What You’ll Do

As a Campus Police Officer, you'll serve on the front lines of campus safety, responsible for, but not limited:

  • Enforcing all campus, county, and state laws and regulations
  • Investigating incidents and detaining suspects when necessary
  • Responding to emergency situations, assisting the injured, and rendering first aid
  • Managing traffic flow and issuing citations
  • Providing law enforcement and crowd control during major events
  • Offering assistance with car lockouts, jump‑starts, escorts, and building access
  • Preparing detailed incident and activity reports
  • Supporting students and staff with sensitive situations such as domestic violence
  • Work with external law enforcement agencies and represent PCC in legal proceedings as needed.

Additional Information

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field
  • 4–6 years of law enforcement experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Certified and qualified under NC Law Enforcement Training and Standards Commission
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license
  • Proven ability to work in high-risk, high-stress environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Firearm proficiency and a commitment to safety and professionalism
  • This role may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and response to on-campus incidents under emergency conditions.
