Service Technician – Industrial Weighing
As a Service Technician, you play a critical role in keeping our customers’ operations running safely, accurately, and efficiently. Many industrial businesses rely on weighing as a critical control point—and they trust our technicians to ensure their equipment performs correctly every time.
This is a hands‑on, field‑based role for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working independently, and learning new technology while delivering outstanding customer service.
What You’ll Do- Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and installations on industrial weighing equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems
- Plan and execute service calls efficiently, ensuring work is completed safely and correctly
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, next steps, and service plans
- Document all work accurately, including calibration data, service notes, timekeeping, and customer sign‑offs
- Support equipment installations independently and as part of a team
- Maintain tools, inventory, and company equipment according to policy
- Identify safety risks on job sites and proactively mitigate hazards
- Collaborate with CIS service and sales teams to support customer relationships and identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or service improvements
- Participate in an on‑call rotation and work overtime as needed to meet customer demand
- Follow all CIS safety policies and procedures, including use of the Hierarchy of Controls
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Ensure company vehicle is operated safely and maintained properly
- Take ownership of work quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
- Understand and apply the “Science of Weighing” and why precision, documentation, and compliance matter to our customers

- High school diploma required; associate degree or technical training in electronics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of electrical theory
- Experience troubleshooting industrial, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment
Comfort working in different environments and customer locations daily - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to document work clearly and accurately using digital tools (ERP, CRM, service dispatch systems)
- Self‑starter who can work independently while also contributing to a team
- Willingness to obtain a CDL within six months of hire (company‑supported)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet DOT and customer requirements
- Ability to pass background and drug screenings
Experience in weighing, metrology, construction sites, rigging, or industrial installations is a strong plus—but not required for the right candidate.
Physical &Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, with occasional higher travel based on business needs
- Ability to lift and move test weights and equipment (50–100 lbs. with team lifts)
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces, varying temperatures, and elevated work areas
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment
- Comfortable wearing PPE, including respirators, when required
