Overview
Position Summary Maintains repairs and installs electrical equipment and appliances. Installs, maintains and repairs electrical distribution systems. Assists in control circuits and fire alarms panel maintenance testing, installation and repair. Performs other duties as assigned.
Note:
major duties have no order to importance.
- Primary duty is to work with Electrician I in maintaining, testing, repairing and installing electrical circuits, panels, devices and equipment.
- Often Electrician II will perform electrical tasks independently to include diagnosis and resolution of problems and some work, such as changing out motor starter or running light duty circuits or changing heaters.
- Maintains repairs and installs electrical distribution systems throughout the hospital with voltages ranging from 120 volts up to 4160 volts. These systems include breakers, transformers, panel boards motor control centers, lighting and motor contractors and feeder circuits.
- Maintains repairs and installs electrical equipment and appliances to include but not limited to fan, pump and HVAC motors.
- Control circuits for vacuum, air water and HVAC systems.
- Assists in maintaining, testing repair and installing Plant Fire Protection system, components and wiring such as infrared and smoke detectors, pull stations, fire door operations, magnets, wiring and relays.
- Measures, fabricates and installs conduit and electrical duct to meet circuit and code requirements.
- High School or higher
- Should know how to read and interpret National Electric Code NPFA 101 (Life Safety Code) and other codes as required.
- More than 1 year but less than 2 years
- Electrical construction in commercial industrial and institutional wiring previous hospital electrical maintenance.

Other InformationFirst Shift, Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. On call every 10 - 11 weeks. Rarely work weekends. Some early mornings for Generator testing.
