Lead Software Engineer (Java/Spring Boot)

Our client, a high-growth fintech modernizing the syndicated loan market, needs a hands-on Lead Software Engineer for its real-time loan data platform. You'll own a product vertical, set technical direction with the Architects, and lead a squad of full-stack engineers building performant, secure applications used by major institutional clients.

This is a player-coach role: you'll write code, run code reviews, drive architecture decisions, and mentor the team — while partnering with Product and UX to ship what clients actually need.

What You'll Do

• Own technical direction and delivery for your squad — quality, performance, scalability
• Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, and implementation decisions
• Build test automation across the stack and enforce engineering best practices
• Mentor engineers day-to-day and unblock the team
• Partner with Product and Project Managers on scope, timelines, and priorities

What You Bring

• 10+ years of full-stack development — Java/Spring Boot backend, React or Angular with Type Script frontend
• Proven experience leading technical projects or teams in an agile environment
• Strong architecture, design pattern, and performance optimization skills
• REST APIs, GraphQL, SQL and No
  
  SQL databases
• Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines
• BS/BA in Computer Science or related field

• E2E testing (Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber)
• Financial services background — syndicated loans or leveraged finance a big plus
