Staff Accountant

We are partnering with a well-established financial institution to hire a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. This role plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting both accounting and operational teams in a highly regulated environment.

Staff Accountant – Banking & Financial Services (Direct Hire)

$60,000 - $70,000

• Reconcile internal accounts and general ledger balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items
• Process, research, and reconcile teller transit activity and daily banking transactions
• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations for official checks, money orders, correspondent bank accounts, and cash letter settlements
• Maintain accurate reconciliation documentation in accordance with record retention policies
• Assist in preparation of Call Reports and regulatory filings (OCC, Federal Reserve)
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting financial documentation
• Rotate responsibilities supporting accounts payable, including invoice verification and approvals
• Assist with internal, external, and regulatory audits, including documentation preparation
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, operational errors, and reconciliation variances
• Support process improvement efforts to enhance controls, efficiency, and accuracy
• Provide operational accounting support as needed, including wire processing and related functions
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
