The Banking Center Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational efficiency of the branch. This role oversees teller and relationship banking functions, staffing, compliance, security, sales performance, business development, and team training. The Banking Center Manager is directly accountable for staff supervision, adherence to bank policies and procedures, and driving growth through cross-selling, referrals, and outside calling efforts.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development- Provide exceptional customer service to customers and team members; serve as a strong role model.
- Lead product knowledge training, staff development, and cross-sales coaching.
- Motivate team members to achieve individual and branch sales goals.
- Conduct weekly team huddles to communicate updates on policies and procedures.
- Perform formal performance evaluations and recommend salary adjustments.
- Document and counsel team members as necessary.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of team training, including ABA Learning Center courses.
- Participate in hiring by reviewing applications, scheduling, and conducting interviews.
- Track and maintain records of vacation, sick leave, bonus days, and floating holidays.
- Notify supervisor and HR of schedule changes and absences.
- Open and close the banking center in accordance with security procedures.
- Supervise vault operations and cash handling procedures.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of branch policies regarding check approvals and overrides.
- Schedule relationship banker and teller teams to ensure adequate staffing.
- Supervise balancing and maintenance of:
- ATM (balanced daily)
- Cash Dispenser (verified Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
- Cash Recycler
- Order and maintain appropriate vault cash levels to support ATM and branch needs.
- Oversee quarterly Surprise Cash Counts to ensure timely completion.
- Review and file Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) with FinCEN within required time frames.
- Monitor returned deposit items to ensure collection and timely resolution.
- Ensure strict adherence to all bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Handle complex customer concerns, complaints, and special requests.
- Serve as back-up teller and relationship banker as needed.
- Support account openings, closings, and loan payoff quotes.
- Promote Greenville Federal products and services to meet cross-sell and referral goals.
- Maintain knowledge of all retail and business products, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Meet individual and branch sales goals.
- Drive consumer lending solutions, including:
- Vehicle loans
- Unsecured loans
- Share loans
- Develop and execute an outside calling plan targeting existing customers and prospects.
- Generate deposit and loan growth through proactive outreach.
- Retain and expand existing customer relationships.
- Lead cross-selling initiatives to grow overall branch performance.
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and drive performance
- In-depth knowledge of retail and business banking products
- Understanding of consumer lending products and underwriting basics
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, including CTR requirements
- Strong understanding of branch security and cash handling procedures
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Sales management and business development experience
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in banking systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to analyze branch performance metrics and implement improvements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of retail banking experience required
- Previous branch management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Experience with vault management and cash controls
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales and growth goals
- Consumer lending experience required
- Experience with regulatory compliance and reporting preferred
