We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Position OverviewThe Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals to residents in accordance with prescribed dietary requirements and menu specifications. Working in a long-term care setting, the Cook ensures that meals are nutritious, properly prepared, and safely served while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. The Cook plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of elderly residents by contributing to a positive and respectful dining experience.

- Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to planned menus, special diets, and resident preferences.
- Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner.
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately to meet residents' nutritional needs.
- Accommodate therapeutic and modified diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, pureed) as directed by dietitian or nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following sanitation and infection control policies.
- Monitor and record food temperatures and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supply inventory.
- Label and date all stored food items properly.
- Work collaboratively with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service.
- Maintain all kitchen equipment in good working condition; report malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Follow all state, local, and facility regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
- Engage respectfully and courteously with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in ongoing training and in-service education as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior dietary experience in healthcare or hospitality is a plus
- Knowledge of kitchen techniques and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage time effectively
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
