  • Complete comprehensive assessments to identify client strengths, barriers, and housing needs.

  • Work with residents to develop individualized housing stabilization and service plans.

  • Meet regularly with residents to monitor progress and address changing needs.

  • Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, de-escalation, advocacy, and support.

  • Connect clients with housing, employment, healthcare, transportation, public benefits, and other community resources.

  • Coordinate referrals and maintain relationships with community agencies and service providers.

  • Assist with discharge planning, housing transitions, and follow-up services.

  • Support daily shelter operations and help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

  • Respond professionally to resident concerns, conflicts, behavioral issues, and emergencies.

  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, assessments, referrals, incident documentation, and client records.

  • Complete required data entry and documentation within HMIS and other agency systems.

  • Assist with facility safety, shelter inventory, donations, and distribution of resident supplies.

  • Participate in an assigned on-call rotation and respond to urgent after-hours situations when needed.

  • Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency medical services, hospitals, mental health providers, child protective services, and other community partners when appropriate.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Mental Health, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • At least two years of experience in case management, homeless services, domestic violence services, crisis intervention, shelter operations, or a related human-services setting.

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, crisis-intervention, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-stress situations.

  • Strong organization, documentation, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to use electronic case-management systems.

  • CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including assigned evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.

  • Previous experience working with individuals or families experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or domestic violence.

  • Experience using the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
