Overview
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide one-to-one services to children and adolescents between the ages of 2-24 who are confronted with serious emotional and/or behavioral disturbances. With support and guidance of the Behavioral Consultant, you will help improve independent, age-appropriate functioning to levels that require less or no service intervention. You will travel to the clients' home, school, or service location daily, following the prescribed treatment plan and providing behavioral and treatment interventions and consequences.
You will set boundaries with clients and their families to prevent dependency on your services while also supporting parents and adult professionals. You will educate and train parents/young adults to utilize these skills, provide positive reinforcement, and deliver culturally aware and competent service provision.
- Provide one-to-one services to clients in their homes or at specified service locations in accordance with the treatment plan.
- Deliver behavioral and treatment interventions and appropriate consequences as prescribed.
- Set boundaries with clients and families to prevent dependency on services.
- Educate and train parents/young adults to utilize skills and reinforce positive behaviors.
- Provide support to parents and adult professionals and ensure culturally aware and competent service provision.
- Ability to pass PA Criminal, Child Abuse, and FBI Clearances and at least one of the following:
- Certified as BCaBA, RBT, or BCAT
- 2 years’ prior Behavioral Health Certification or Behavior Analysis Certification from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute
- High School diploma or equivalent and completed the 40hr RBT Training (RBT Task List) Certification (or ability to complete this within the first 10 days of hire; you will be paid for this training time)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing Behavioral Health services
