JOB SUMMARY:

The Lead Operator will help coordinate daily activities of the assigned area, maintain various productivity metrics, and assist in training and coaching less experienced operators along with performing normal work functions. The Lead Operator will provide leadership and role model appropriate compliance to our core values and policies as well as have experience in all aspects of the area they are assigned to.

Available Shift:

  • 1 st Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect work areas at start of shift to help identify any unusual items that need to be addressed during the shift.
  • Comply with all safety and quality policies and procedures including lockout tag out, GMP, HACCP and Allergen; promote safety, quality, housekeeping for work area; report questionable conditions or issues to supervisor for resolution.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Ensure tools and equipment is in good working order; report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the supervisor.
  • Maintain open communication with co-workers to ensure smooth operation and assist with pre-shift team meetings. Demonstrate proper working methods.
  • Assist in training new hires and refresher training of current employees on all functions within the assigned area to ensure their success on the job. Complete all training documents and submit to appropriate record-keeper.
  • Track data regarding shift production; daily report and record shift metrics, production performance and any issues. Verify quality checks are performed.
  • Lead and actively participate in our drive to “manufacturing excellence”; lead discussion of performance, quality and safety metrics; participate in continuous improvement activities to improve efficiencies, reduce waste.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating equipment repair; troubleshoot equipment issues as necessary.
  • Operate a forklift to maneuver in-process or finished good to meet production needs; ensure all items are correctly pulled or recorded in WMS system or other warehouse recordkeeping system.
  • Communicate with other operations to address issues and coordinate work activities.

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, assigned, and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of work area, process, machinery
  • Good written and verbal skills, able to maintain cleaning metrics, complete training sheets and other production documentation
  • Able to accurately read control panel, computer screens, charts and adjust to modify for desired results
  • Basic use of computer, tablet, scanner, iPad for recording information
  • Self-started, able to effectively direct work teams to meet production demands
