    - Friday : 7a-3:30p

Job Purpose:

The Bean Yield Technician works in the Bean Cleaning, and Roasting operations to create and monitor trends, collect data, and perform critical testing to assess process performance and equipment reliability. This will require working closely with area operators, maintenance technicians, process analysts, and process engineering to provide data, accurately communicate findings, assist with equipment adjustments, and support the resolution of bean yield, and waste problems.

Provide assistance in the liquor grinding department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily observations of equipment and documenting settings in the Bean Cleaning Liquor Grinding and Roasting departments
  • Acquire data and develop spreadsheets
  • Test and document finding on aspirators and destoners
  • Conduct daily nib in shell/shell in nib test and adjust equipment if needed
  • Review findings with key stakeholders in the value stream.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Operations to make equipment settings and adjustments
  • Record bean flow rates through the winnowing process for all bean types and roasters
  • Identify and reduce waste in Bean Cleaning and Roasting
  • Recognize and improve on bean yield for all bean varieties
  • Report findings to the process analyst and process engineer
  • Identify the equipment effectiveness and life span of using trends
  • Operate within the core values of respect and care for others.

Physical Requirements:

  • Majority of time in production work environment
  • Exposed to the manufacturing and outdoor environments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to collect and organize data
  • Ability to perform basic lab testing carefully and accurately
  • Mechanically inclined with basic experience of operating equipment

Education:

  • Two (2) year college degree with 0-2 years of experience
  • High School Diploma with 3-5 years of operator experience
  • Knowledge of basic analytical lab equipment
