Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a commitment to precision.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely transactions.

- Review general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries to maintain financial accuracy.

- Perform detailed account analysis and reconcile discrepancies, including bank statements and intercompany accounts.

- Maintain and update the general ledger chart of accounts.

- Assist in evaluating and improving internal controls for operational efficiency.

- Post accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis to ensure proper expense recognition.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with corporate and sales tax regulations.

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to meet statutory requirements.

- Provide support during audits to address inquiries and ensure proper documentation.

- Contribute to financial reporting and analysis as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax, including preparation and compliance.

- Proficiency in managing sales tax and ensuring accurate filings.

- Strong knowledge of corporate tax return processes.

- Expertise in preparing and adjusting journal entries.

- Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.

- Excellent analytical skills for account analysis and financial data interpretation.

- Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate financial information clearly.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
