Are you passionate about cooking nutritious meals for children and maintaining the highest kitchen standards? Our large childcare center is seeking a dependable, experienced Daycare Cook to join our team!
This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM — no evenings or weekends!
Duties- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily
- Create and implement rotating seasonal menus that meet USDA and DSS guidelines
- Maintain accurate food counts and meal documentation
- Ensure full compliance with DSS and DHEC standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, complaint-ready kitchen at all times
- Monitor food inventory and place orders as needed
- Follow safe food handling and sanitation procedures
- Accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions
- Experience cooking in a childcare, school, or commercial kitchen setting preferred
- Knowledge of DSS and DHEC regulations strongly preferred
- 18 years of age (or older)
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Food safety certification preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Consistent daytime schedule (7 AM – 3 PM)
- No nights or weekends
