Camp Supervisors – Summer 2026
The Greenville Recreation and Parks Department is recruiting Camp Supervisors for the following summer camps. Candidates may apply for more than one camp.
- Jamboree (South Greenville Recreation Center)
- Playground Program (Greenfield Terrace Park) – runs from June 15 - July 31, 2026
- Rec. Plus (Boyd Lee Park)
- Eppes Recreation Center Day Camp
Minimum Age: 18 years old, as of May 12, 2026
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Camps run from June 15 to August 7, 2026 (except Playground Program). There is no camp on June 19 and July 3. All staff are expected to attend mandatory training before camp starts.

Jamboree (South Greenville Recreation Center)Hours: Must be available to work a varied schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Camp operates: June 15, 2026, through August 7, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Daily guidance of campers ages 6-12.
- Leads and participates in camp activities.
- Assists other counselors.
- Teaches sport skills.
- Supervises at the swimming pool.
- Supervises field trips.
- Assists in planning daily activities.
- Leads group games and art projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred experience: Previous experience in a summer camp setting.
Playground Program (Greenfield Terrace Park)Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Camp operates: June 15, 2026, through July 31, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in planning and coordinating daily activities including arts and crafts and team building games for campers 6-12 years old.
- Leads and participates in camp activities.
- Supervises campers, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Maintains and acquires the necessary operating supplies with approval of Recreation Supervisor.
- Maintains attendance records and permission slips for each camper.
- Handles parental concerns and complaints when supervisor is not available.
- Other duties as assigned.
Must possess: Creative imagination in arts and crafts and team-building games. Willingness to participate in game and garden activities.
Rec. Plus Camp (Boyd Lee Park)Hours: Must be available to work between 7:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Camp operates: June 15, 2026, through August 7, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Daily guidance of campers ages 5-10.
- Leads and participates in camp activities.
- Assists other counselors.
- Teaches sport skills.
- Supervises at the swimming pool.
- Supervises field trips.
- Assists in daily activities.
- Leads group games and art projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred experience: Previous experience in a summer camp setting.
Eppes Day Camp (Eppes Recreation Center)Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Camp operates: June 15, 2026, through August 7, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Daily guidance of campers ages 6-12.
- Leads camp activities.
- Assists other counselors.
- Teaches sport skills.
- Supervises at the swimming pool.
- Supervises field trips.
- Assists in planning daily activities.
- Leads group games and art projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a summer camp setting preferred.
- Previous related experience (paid or volunteer) such as in a school, camp, daycare, or recreational setting preferred.
- College graduate with some supervisory experience preferred for all supervisory positions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license issued by N.C. or another state.
- Valid CPR and First Aid/AED certifications are required prior to the start of camp.
- Knowledge of promoting good conduct and acting as a role model for campers.
- Presenting a mature professional demeanor.
- Working in a team environment.
- Ability to train, supervise, and motivate counselors and maintain a quality summer recreation program.
- Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with campers, parents, employees, community organization partners, and the general public.
- Understand and abide by Greenville Recreation and Parks Department policies and procedures.
