A well-established commercial general contractor in the Upstate South Carolina market is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer to support and work directly under a senior, 20-year estimator. This role is designed as a succession-track opportunity, with the intent of developing into a future preconstruction leadership position.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with conceptual and detailed estimating for commercial interior, renovation, and upfit projects
- Coordinate with operations and project teams to ensure accurate scope alignment
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids
- Participate in value engineering and cost analysis efforts
- 4+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or commercial operations/project management
- Experience with commercial interiors, renovations, or upfits (K-12 and/or higher education experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction documents and cost analysis
- Strong communication skills and ability to grow into a leadership role
